Z Fold 8 Wide.. a new concept in foldable Samsung phones

The company revealed 3 foldable smartphones: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

In addition to smartphones, the company also introduced two smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9.

The all-new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 8 are powered by a fifth-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 processor, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 comes with an Exynos 2600 processor.

All the three smartphones run on the Android 17 operating system and the company has also confirmed that they will receive operating system and security updates for 7 years.

The Galaxy Z series features Flex Titanium, an improved display architecture that combines a layer of titanium alloy with a reinforced titanium plate to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and withstand repeated folding, pressure and daily impacts while maintaining flexibility.

In the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung adopted a design that is shorter and wider than all previous Fold phones, in a move that aims to address one of the most prominent observations that the series has faced in recent years, which is the narrowness of the external screen and the difficulty of using it comfortably in some daily tasks.

The phone comes with an external display measuring 5.5 inches, with a resolution of 1248 x 1972 pixels, while the internal display measures 7.6 inches, with a resolution of 2448 x 1848 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 4:3, which is a ratio closer to traditional tablets compared to the previous generation’s semi-square “Fold shape” used in the previous generation.

The change in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is not limited to the external design, but extends to the way the phone itself is used, as the new shape gives the internal screen an area closer to tablet screens, making it more suitable for reading documents and e-books, surfing the Internet and working with more than one application at the same time.

Specially designed to facilitate multitasking, the Samsung Ultra Fold allows you to open two applications and work on them simultaneously with just one tap on the top bar.

Samsung demonstrated an exceptional feature in the Notes application, which allows users, especially content creators, to record video and read text simultaneously by sharing the screen between the camera and notes, facilitating the process of professional photography without the need for external devices.

The new design provides a more comfortable experience when using the external screen, whether writing messages, browsing applications or responding to notifications, without having to open the phone every time.

The phone supports the latest Galaxy AI features, which take advantage of the large screen to perform simultaneous translation tasks, summarize documents, assist with writing, smart search and complete daily tasks faster.
